Friday was our travel day. Gary forgot a few things while running errands yesterday so he did them this morning while I was getting ready. We were out of the house by 9:30 this morning for our long drive to Las Vegas. We had heavy traffic from Temecula until just south of Barstow where we stopped for lunch and topped off the tank. We had a short drive with light traffic then heavy traffic again all the way to Vegas. I should know better than to travel on a Friday to Vegas let alone on a holiday weekend. We were both very tired by the time we got to our timeshare so it was a good thing we didn't have to wait in a long line to check-in. After several trips from the car to our unit with all our stuff we were pooped. After a brief rest we walked next door to the South Point Casino to get dinner. I was definitely too tired to cook.
Saturday morning we has our usual timeshare presentation, but we had a free buffet at the casino compliments of the timeshare. They bribe you to sit through their presentation but Gary will do anything for a free meal. Monica was our escort, she is Hungarian so we enjoyed talking about different countries in Europe during our breakfast. Then we walked back to the timeshare to walk through some remodeled units followed by a boring sales pitch. We are a hard sell and didn't get sucked into buying a unit. They sent us on our way, but no before we were given our coupons for a show tomorrow at The Mirage. Tomorrow is our anniversary and we want to see Cirque du Soleil Love (Beatles) for our anniversary celebration. Gary wants to see the Cirque du Soleil and I want to listen to the Beatles music so it works for us. This afternoon we drove to The Mirage to pick up our tickets for tomorrow night. We did some shopping at The Beatles Gift shop then went back to the timeshare.
